My Top 10 Most Listened to Songs

  1. 7 Years – Lukas Graham
    1. I wrote about this song, HERE. It gives me a bitter sweet memory to when I discovered this song. I correlate it with a really hard time in my life, breaking up with my boyfriend of 2.5 years, that being said. It’s a good song.
  2. Trust In You – Lauren Daigle
    1. I love the words in this song. “When You don’t move the mountains, I’m needing You to move, When You don’t part the waters, I wish I could walk through, When You don’t give the answers, As I cry out to You, I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You, I will trust in You” If that dosen’t move you I don’t know what will.
  3. It’s Not Over Yet – For King & Country
    1. This song is fuel to my fire. It’s burning in me and I ain’t gone let it stop for no one. “To everyone that’s hit there limit, It’s not over yet” That line speaks to me. It reminds me that even though your out of strength, there is a God who will never run out. Isaiah 40:31
  4. A-Team – Ed Sheeran
    1. This is my calm down song I listen to it when I’m anxious and I sing it to myself when I’m anxious. I try to focus on the words and stop focusing on whats making me anxious.
  5. Brother – NEEDTOBREATHE
    1. I have the great pleasure of having seen this performed live, by NEEDTOBREATHE. It. Was. Amazing. If you haven’t seen them live, your going to need to do that. SO, good!
    2. I don’t know what it is but “Brother, lemme be your fortress” is my favorite line. Such good lyrics.
  6. God is On the Move – 7eventh Time Down
    1. I sing this song in my head a lot. It’s just so catchy. God is on the move, on the move today.
  7. Glowing (Cassette Remix) – Nikki Williams
    1. Such a good beat, I recommend listening to this loudly. It’s better that way. lol.
  8. The Comeback – Danny Gokey
    1. This is my jam. Its my anthem for law school. If you don’t know already law school at U of I, is my Comeback. “This is your time, your moment, the final fight your golden you’ve come so far keep going”
  9. Set Free – Borgore
    1. I did not say that all the songs were Christian… Borgore is a /intresting/ artist. But he does good stuff once in a while. I like that his music has heavy metal influences yet it’s dubstep. I liked a lot of metal in my high school days but had to give it up because the lyrics are often so anti-God which I am not. I like uniqueness in the musical make up. Anyway good song, good beat.
  10. Ten Thousand Reasons – Hardline
    1. I love this song. I could listed to the first 10 seconds forever.

If you haven’t heard these songs, you are missing out. While these are certainly not my top 10 favorite songs its my most listened to songs.

My Skin Care Routine

I am not a beauty blogger… I don’t LOVE to wear make up and I rock a naked face 80% of the time. But I do care if my face looks presentable. No-one likes zits, whiteheads, blackheads or acne in general. It’s no fun, and sometimes painful. So I do my best to keep my skin in tip top shape. Now that being said, I don’t do it if I don’t see the reward. I am a results driven skin care person. If it doesn’t work, and work quick, I’m out.

My Skin Type:

I have VERY oily skin, hair, and nails. But to make things more difficult I also have sensitive skin. So the tough stuff that controls the oil, is too hard on my skin and results in dry patches. I have also been treated for eczema, though I haven’t had it in years, since puberty really.

Here, it my face today. No photoshop, no filters, just some good old natural light from out my window.

I’m breaking out today. Mostly along my chin and lower cheeks. Now, I think its from too much soda and not enough water. I’ve been busy and had midterms so I’ve been neglecting my self. This is the result in my opinion.

Face Wash/Exfoliator:

I am a morning shower persons. Sometimes at night instead, but usually in the morning. 99% of the time I am pressed for time and so my routine has to be quick if it’s going to work. So I wash my face in the shower to save time. I have been using these face wash products in the shower.

(left) Formula 10.0.6 is my new favorite. I found it at Ulta when shopping face masks and became addicted. So I use their Be Berry Ready, face wash or Best Face Forward face wash a lot.

For daily cleansing I switch between… depends on the mood i’m in.

  • Be Berry Ready
    • Smells like grape Pez, and though it does not lather up really good it does leave your face feeling refreshed and clean without being too harsh or drying.
  • Best Face Forward
    • Does not foam up like it says it does, but also cleans really well and leaves a clean face. (Second to the Be Berry Ready, though)
  • Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub
    • Leaves the face feeling that squeaky clean feeling and a little more dry than the others but great bang for your buck and does get your face super clean.

For a facial scrub that really, and I mean really gets the dead skin I use One Smooth Operator, also by Formula 10.0.6. I use this about every 3 days for a good scrubbing. Do not get it in your mouth… It’s so gritty it was disgusting. Don’t ask how I got it in my mouth…

Make-up Removal:

On days where I do wear makeup I look forward to the sweet relief of taking it off more than anything. For this process I start with a good old Walmart brand makeup remover wipe.

In all honestly this does not get all the makeup off but its a good start. It will get the appearance of make up off you but it will not clean your face. So to actually get makeup off I would shower and use face wash. But, thats rarely a reality, usually I just want it off so I can go to bed so I use Micellar Water to remove the rest of my make up. It’s like magic how it gets the Kat Von D Tattoo liner off. Also the only thing that cuts though Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation too. Another stubborn one to remove.

Face Masks:

My secret to beautiful skin, and staying that way is Face Masks. My little sister/Roommate got me hooked and now I buy them, constantly and use them almost daily either to spot treat or full face… between the two of us we have several brands and types of face masks on hand at all times. The common 7pm question is “what mask should I do?”

For deep cleaning I like the Freeman Charcoal Probiotics (Second row 2nd in from the left) mask. That sucker will clean you up real good in just one use. However, all the clay masks really do something but the charcoal will really do something if you need it, it is kinda intense to do multiple days in a row. I never go more than 2 days in a row with it for fear of drying me out. The Freeman Tea Tree oil one (top row farthest left) also does good job.

For more of a light cleanse I use a moisturizing or balancing or stress free mask. Now I prefer a clay to a peel off just because I’m a texture person and the gel feel of the peel offs is kinda yucky to me. But they work, so I suffer though. Plus its really satisfying to peel off.

Oh, I almost forgot… I apply all masks with either my Elf Pointed Foundation brush or my Sonia Kashuk brush. Both work good and clean up easy.

Last thing I use and almost always forget to use is moisturizer. After a mask or a cleaning I like to moisturize but I forget a lot since I’m so oily usually. When I do moisturize i use… Equate Moisturizing Cream. It works good and does not leave me more oil than I was naturally. Also this container lasts a life time. IMG_8363

Well, that’s my beauty secrets. I got nothing now. lol. What products do you use? What are you loving? What are you hating? What brands of Face masks should I try?

Let me know in the comments!

Kissing Before Marriage?/My First Kiss

I need new followers… so at the expense of my embarrassment here is a post all about kissing. My first kiss, to my views on kissing in a relationship and most of the stuff in-between.

My First Kiss:

I was 15 years old. A Freshman in High School. We, and by we I mean the Marching band were on a tour bus to Seattle from Spokane for a show. We were about half way there and playing truth or dare… naturally. As any stupid teenagers in a unsupervised bus would be doing. I was dared to kiss a boy. The boy was a boy I found attractive but didn’t have a crush on or anything, he was not even really one of my friends he was just another kid on the bus. I believe he is openly gay now but that’s besides the point. The bus had come to a stop in North Bend. The Wendy’s Parking lot. I was facing him in the bus isle nervous. He was blushing and laughing asking if he had a say in this. The answer was “no” according to the kids that were instigating the situation. So the kids started chanting “DO IT!, DO IT!” So I leaned in an pecked him on the lips. It was awkward and uncomfortable and we both could have lived with out it to say the least. But that was my first kiss.

Now, I know some of you are going to say “that was a dare it dosen’t count” so I will tell you the story of my second kiss. I was in my Mom’s car parked out in front my friends house. He was in the passenger seat with me and I don’t remember how it started but we ended up kissing… well, making out. Sorry, you had to read that Mom!

My View on Kissing:

Okay, now that I have your attention lemme get more serious and talk about how I feel about kissing. I believe that kissing is okay when you are dating.

Now, that being said if a guy I liked and myself started a relationship with the intent on seeing if we were fit to marry and he didn’t want to do anything more than hold hands till we where engaged, I would happily respect that and comply. I would really respect a guy for this.

But if It’s up to me I don’t think there is anything wrong with kissing and only kissing when you are in a relationship. Now, If you haven’t kissed anyone and have the chance to hold out till your married, go for it I think that is super cool and I almost wanna say I don’t want kiss another guy till I am engaged. How cool would it be to only know that person emotionally and have no physical relationship to distract you till you decide it’s forever.

I have only ever been in one serious relationship. It lasted over two years. I was ready to marry him.

I remember the first time we kissed. We where hangin out a group of us at the house of a lady he was house sitting for playing video games and such when everyone but the tow of us had started a conversation in the kitchen. So I leaned in and kissed him. I totally caught him off guard and it was hilarious. We had been dating about three weeks when we first kissed. I was nervous to kiss since it had been like 5 years since my high school shenanigans. But, eventually I got over it.

Do I regret kissing him? Yes and no. I regret the relationship because it ended up being a waste of my time since he had no intentions of marrying me, but I enjoyed it at the time.

One Step Further… ?

Touchy subject… I believe that the line is drawn at kissing on the lips, till marriage. Now, I believe there is a lot of passionate kissing that can be done and still stay in the realm of appropriate. But I still believe in the line being drawn at clothes on, hands in places that can be seen, kissing. Now, I must confess I didn’t always follow this thought pattern and I didn’t follow it because… I was being stupid. No one is to blame but me… and a little bit alcohol. But none the less, it was wrong thinking. Thankfully, I choose after the relationship ended and the smoke in my head cleared… that I wanna draw the line at kissing and not as much as a toe will cross that line till I say I do. Thank you Jesus for clarity on this subject.

So… tell me about your first kiss? How old were you? Where did it happen? Where do you draw the line of whats okay before marriage? Let me know!

My Makeup Routine: Updated 2018 Edition

Well, I did a post about my makeup a while ago and everyone seemed to like it so here is my day to day make up routine.

Here is my before make up picture. I hate showing this to you but its gotta be here to show the difference makeup can do. So this is me, clean face, just rocking a little moisturizer.

Step 1: Foundation

  • Primer all over my whole face, including eye lids, applied with my fingers.
  • Currently I bounce betweenIMG_8313
    • Elf Pore less
    • Pore Adjusting
    • Urban Decay Optical Illusion.
  • Next is foundation, I bounce between (applied with a fishtail brush)
    • Elf Acne Foundation
      • So good for the price, full coverage and docent oxidize until like hour 8.
    • Dream velvet by Maybelline
      • A lighter coverage foundation yet still full coverage kinda.
    • Tarte Amazonian Clay
      • Overall, an amazing foundation total coverage that doesn’t feel like you are weighed down with make up. Hard to get off though. Needs more than a make up remover wipe.
    • L’Oreal Infallible Total Coverage
      • I like this foundation when I have acne.
    • If I don’t wanna wear full make up I wear the Maybelline BB cream and powder and go.

Step 2: Bronzer/Highlighter/Blush

  • Next comes the Powder/Bronzer/Blush/Highlighter
    • I apply them with the brushes here, I got the fancy ones on Amazon for 12$ they are so nice! I have even washed them and they held up so I am a happy camper.
    • I apply powder to my wet face after I spray with Urban Decay setting spray and smooth it out with a Elf powder brush. (3rd in from the right)

  • I apply my Air Spun powder to my wet face and sometimes if I want a little more coverage I use Covergirl Loose Powder.
  • Next, I use either my Urban Decay Naked Blush/Highlighter/Bronzer or my Sephora Bronzer, Sephora Highlighter pallet and Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush.
    • I choose depending on what mood I’m in. Lol.
    • I love them both, however, the Tarte, and Sephora stuff is way more pigmented than the Naked stuff but when I travel I only take the naked becasuse it’s three in one.

Step 3: Eyes

  • I start my eyes with a little highlighter in the corner of my eye and on my brow line. Next, I apply some sort of base color to my lid and then the crease then blend. Usually, a golden color for the lid and a brownish/golden color for the crease.

  • I love my Urban Decay Naked Pallets. They are SO pigmented and so little goes so far so they last for a long time, it took a over a year to hit pan on my first most used color. I got the Urban decay mini pallet for Free from Sephora when I cashed in my points. The purple in it is amazing. Especially because I have green eyes.

  • Next come the eye liner. I wear eye liner on my top lid and thats all. Always black and always a attempt at a cat eye with a wing.
  • I bounce between…
    • Kat Von D – Tattoo liner
      • Last forever, doesn’t move from where you place it, doesn’t irritate your eyes at all and the one stick of it last like 8 months never drying out either.
    • Stila
      • This one is still good, but it bleeds as you wear it though out the day, and it irritated my eyes after a few hours. Also was expensive.
    • Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner.
      • This is the perfect in-between the first two. It’s good but not Kat Von D good. I will still use it but I don’t love love it enough to buy it again… if I’m being honest I will never not buy the Kat Von D, after trying other ones. It is clearly superior.
  • Next, is the mascara. I bounce between…
    • Rimmel London Shake it Fresh
      • I got as a gift and Its actually great mascara goes on good and stays on though out the day.
    • Great Lash by Maybeline
      • Terrible terrible applicator but long lasting cheep good mascara.
    • Tarte Light Camera Lashes.
      • Clearly the best of the three and the most expensive. I got it as a gift but it’s fantastic, it creates long lashes that don’t clump up and it does not flake off during the day.

Step 4: Lips

  • My personal favorite part of my makeup routine the finishing touch, Lippies.
  • Yes this is every lip product I own. I know my sister just cringed as I said that she owns 4 million lippies. I like matte liquid lipstick and it’s my favorite. I also light bright fun colors. (Sorry the picture turned out so dark.)

Well, there you have it my make up routine. This is the finished product, please do not judge my greasy hair I can’t wash it today because I am dying my roots tonight and i need dirty hair to bleach it. Also I’m sorry for the lighting I took the picture in my bathroom, I wanted the same lighting as the before picture for consistency.

What do you love about make up? What products are you loving or hating? Lemme know!

Also, here is a link to buy some of the brushes that I love on Amazon! Click the picture of them to buy! They are cheep in cost but expensive in quality! I personally recommend them!

My Hair Story

*Disclaimer: I’m no hair dresser, I just know what I do works for me. Do not try to bleach your own hair based on this post.*

My Natural Hair Color:

I had virgin hair till 2012. When I took a plunge and decided to go blonde. One of the best decisions I have ever made. I am so much happier with my hair when its blonde. Naturally I have very oily hair nails and skin. My hair was so oily I couldn’t go more than 24 hours with out it looking so greasy that it was gross. IT wouldn’t hold a curl, it took forever to dry and was a icky mousy brown/dirty blonde color.

Since I have been bleaching… now 6 years. My hair holds a curl, I can go 2 days with out washing it (just requires a little dry shampoo on day 2) and Its overall so much more fun for me.

I briefly went back to my natural color in 2016. This only lasted about 8 months.

This was my hair after I went from blonde to brown.

This brown was done over top of bleached hair so after a while it washed out to a stepped brown color seen here. It looked like I had ombre hair because the top part was virgin hair and the bottom was once blonde.

How I Style My Hair/Products I Use:

75% of the time my hair is in a messy bun. The other 20% of the time its down straight. The last 5% of the time it’s curled.

I use dry shampoo, hair spray, heat protectant, shampoo & conditioner. Thats it. I’m simple.

The Bleaching Process:

This is my hair after I bleached it the first time in June 2012. We (Me and my Mom) did it ourselves at home.

Now, it’s just a matter of keeping it up. Special Thanks to my sister for doing all the work.

Before Bleaching… Very dirty, greasy frizzy hair. Like my outfit? Warning the bleach will ruin clothes so I have a special outfit fir bleaching.

Here, is all the tools you need for the bleaching process.

  • Toner on the first left. T18 is the color.
  • To the right of the toner is developer.
  • Next to that is powdered bleach.

  • Mixing bowl
  • Gloves
  • funnel
  • squeeze bottle
  • measuring cup
  • hair color brush

The process starts with applying the bleach/developer mixture to the roots and just the roots.

After you apply the bleach start the timer. Then put a plastic bag over it and start blowdrying it on high. The heat activates the bleach so it goes faster. Your head will get super hot. Just keep it blowing evenly all over for about 5 min. Then check it to see where it’s lifted to.

Once it looks pretty close to the color you desire, just a tad more yellow then you would like wash it out. I use regular shampoo and regular conditioner for this. Then towel dry.

This is what it should look like, very yellow. While it’s still wet mix your toner and developer and put that in the squeeze bottle. Then apply it to the whole head making sure you get the roots really good. Then leave it on for 8-12 min.

Next, you wash out the purple toner and your done! Here is the finished product. Still a little wet but mostly dry and very blonde!

My Apple Products Through the Years

I started my love affair with Apple in the 6th grade. My parents went to a computer event with their company and won a door prize of a black iPod nano first generation. I was fortunate enough that they not knowing what it was gave it to me as just another mp3 player.

I played the crap out of that iPod. I was glued to it. I remember looking forward to my walk home from school because it meant iPod time.

At about the same time I learned about Lime Wire and started downloading songs like crazy. I was very in to having “cool” song  on my iPod and only cool songs.

This is the funny part but in 2013 there was a recall of iPod Nano’s First gen’s and my nano was affected to I sent it in and was sent a 6th generation nano. I ended up giving it to my Dad for his hikes.

In the 9th grade my parents gave us new iPods for Christmas. They were iPod Nano Videos and looked like this

ipod nano video

It had 8gb on it and me being very in to music had more then that in music and was frustratingly only downloading 1gb at a time to my iPod nano. So I asked if I could return this ipad for a classic with 80gb, and pay the difference in price myself. My parents were cool with it and the difference in price ended up being a measly 10$. So I was happy as a clam.

I used this iPod all though high school and first few years of college. It was so reliable held a charge for weeks and was so cool to me. I had tons of playlists and listened to that thing non-stop. I remember when I would wake up late for school in High School my Mom would take my phone away for the day and I remember thinking eh, its okay I still have my iPod. FYI Mom, you should have taken both away.

Then in May, 2011 I joined the crowed and got my iPhone 4. Loved loved loved it. It was so cool to have my phone and iPod all in one. I eventually moved on to an iPhone 5, then a 6, then currently a 7 plus.

I love my 7 plus the most. The screen is so clear, the pictures it takes are amazing and the only thing I don’t like about it is the stupidest thing I think apple has done… the headphone jack. Why in the world take that away? I hate that I have to use an adapter or the dumb apple headphones that leak sound. But I’m getting over it… slowly as I buy more adapters.

Here for your curiosity is my phone screens and all my apps. Like the games page? lol

Around September 2011, I got my first iPad. I loved the iPad but between my phone and laptop I never found a use for the iPad. IT was so limited and slow that I ended up selling it shortly after I bought it.

ipad origional

Somewhere in there I bought an iPad Mini thinking I would like it better for reading and games.

ipad mini

I loved how the mini fit my hands. It was the perfect size but eventually it got outdated and I need up selling it.

A few months ago I got the iPad Pro 10.3 inch. I like it a lot its nice to surf the net and relax and read on. It is not as confutable as the mini was but the screen is so clear that it actually make up for it. It’s mainly used for youtube in bed now though.

I got my first MacBook in january of 2012. I was in love instantly. I needed a reliable laptop for econometrics and so I figured what better time than now to finance a new laptop. I pad like $1200 and got my MacBook Pro.

macbook pro origional

I had been a diehard PC person till I got my iPhone so this was a big change for me and I admit it took a few months before I was comfortable on it.

In 2015 I decided to retire my MacBook and get a new one. I make the choice because it was getting slow and Figured I should sell it while it had some life left in it and make a little money back.

So I bought my current MacBook for $1900 (Thank you Jesus was able to pay cash for this one) and sold my old one on eBay for $500. It too is a MacBook Pro and there is nothing about it I don’t like. I don’t even miss the disk drive though I did buy a external one for good measure.

Also, I use this cord to charge all my devices. It’s a must have and a killer price on Amazon. Click the Pic of it below to buy one and see for your self.
